Welcome to Stories2Learn (S2L) 3.0, an affordable and powerful way to promote social messages to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Noted on multiple parent blogs as a “top 10 application for autism,” S2L provides a new optimized interface for all of Apple’s iOS devices (iPod touch, iPhone, and all iPads).

S2L offers parents and educators the ability to create personalized stories using photos, text, and audio messages. These stories can be used to promote an individual’s literacy, leisure, as well as social skills.

“Stories” comes preloaded with 12 finely crafted social narratives that can be used to teach social skills in the areas of reciprocal play, non-verbal communication, playground and school rules, turn taking, and more (please note that there are six actual stories with two different ways to view the story depending on the individuals’ developmental level).

With S2L an educator can quickly create a story that shows various social cues. For example, if an individual is learning a new concept such as turn taking, making improved eye contact, sharing, or other social messages, these concepts can be quickly depicted in a story created by parent or educator within minutes! The creator is able to add their own audio and write dialogue that corresponds to the photos.

While S2L is the perfect app for teaching social messages, it can also be used for a number of additional learning purposes. Featuring an easy to use interface, S2L can also be used for visual schedules and other supports. Teachers or parents can quickly add a photo and add text to help organize the individual throughout the day. This can be effective for individuals who benefit from a high degree of structure such as students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or others with special needs that thrive on these visual supports.

An educational team consisting of a school psychologist, speech therapist, and teachers developed S2L. While the program was created for individuals with ASD or students with other social learning challenges, S2L is also the ideal way to accelerate social learning in typical developing students, as well.

The program works on the iPod touch, iPhone (all versions), and the iPad (iPads 1 and 2).

Dont forget to check out Video Scheduler (iTunes app) which allows you to share video schedules/video modeling and more!
